{ FHE }

here is what our FHE lesson will consist of tonight. With summer in full swing we are in some serious need for Chore Charts, and I found this cute little story that hopefully my kidlets can relate too. I found pictures of the engine, train cars, and caboose, and put our names on them, I plan to hang it up near our new chore charts (I'll post later).

Object Lesson: A Family is Like A Train - Stay On Track

Engine - Dad: (show picture of engine car) Dad is the engine of our train. He leads and guides our family. He helps keep each member on track. He is strong, full of energy, and is the front leading us. There are times when he will blow off a little steam. That may be a signal that he needs a little more help and support. It is not easy to be the one to lead, unless those who are following help to carry the load and share the responsibilities.

Train Cars - Children: (show picture of train car) Each child is very important in helping the family stay on track. Each family member must do their part and work together to keep the family and home running smoothly. Each child must carry part of the load and share the responsibilities. To the older child it may seem that they may carry the majority of the load. They have a great responsibility to teach the younger children how to follow through on assignments and stay on track.

Caboose (show picture of a caboose, no pun intended:)) - Mom: The train would not stay on track if it wasn't for the caboose. A mother is a great strength to the entire family. She helps the children know of their worth and how important they are to the family. She reminds everyone of appointments, meetings and assignments. She helps the family stay on track by encouraging them to set priorities and set personal goals. She adds fuel by preparing meals and providing tender loving care. She may seem tired but if everyone else is doing their jobs it makes hers much easier.

What did you learn about the train? It needs everyone to keep it on track.
